Social Media Ad Metrics

Measuring the effectiveness of social media is the first step in assessing their value.

Social Media are becoming widely accepted by consumers and advertisers. Consumers spend more time on social media and advertisers follow accordingly. Unfortunately there is no common understanding on how advertisers should measure the value of social media. This makes it harder for marketers to justify the investments.

Organizations that are actively involved in social media need a way to understand the value of these efforts. A model to calculate the value is not designed yet (Seagull1 is working on it), but a first step is to measure the effectiveness.
